How to register, log in and change your personal details

Help with using My AGREE

First, you need to create a profile, as shown above.  Once you are logged in, when you click on My AGREE you will see a private area of the website where you can crreate and maintain appraisals of practice guidelines.

These appraisals utilise the AGREE II. The idea is that you record your scores for each of the 23 items, along with any comments, overal assessments and bibliographic information, and save it on the website.

You can see that your My AGREE page shows details of two kinds of appraisals:  Incomplete ones that you are still working on, and Complete ones that you have finished. You can use the links in the My AGREE page to change the status of individual appraisals.

Starting a new appraisal

To start a new appraisal, go to your My AGREE page and click Add a new appraisal.

First, you will be prompted to provide some basic information about your guideline.  Once you've done this, you can start inputting your scores for each of the 23 questions.

Use the orange buttons at the bottom of the page to save your changes as you work through each question.  You can also use the progress bar (shown opposite) if you want to jump around the questions.

When you are finished, you must provide an Overall Assessment.

Finished appraisals

When you have finished, you can output your appraisals in one of two ways:

  1. as a web page
  2. as a PDF document

Web pages have the advantage that they can be viewed by anyone with access to the net.  A URL is provide that you can email to colleagues or share online.  Note that other than this link, everything else remains private.  Nobody will be able to see the rest of your appraisals, nor will they be able to make any changes.

PDFs have obvious benefits for printing and sharing, and obvious drawbacks because they require a PDF reader.  Save the file locally in the usual way you like to handle PDFs.  Find out more about Acrobat Reader.

Help with using the Forum

The forum is for any user of the AGREE website to post questions, answers, share appraisals and discuss issues related to the evaluation of practice guidelines.

For example, if you have a question about how to apply the AGREE II in practice, by all means post it to the forum and our team will endeavour to provide an answer.

Click through the topics until you reach a discussion thread, example shown opposite.  Click "Contribute" to take part in the discussion.

To create a new discussion thread, click "Start a new thread" in the Forum view.

Over time, we expect to build up an FAQ-type resource via the forum, so don't be shy:  other people are probably asking the same question.

We do ask that users of the forum treat each other with respect at all times, of course, and take care to use clear and appropriate language.
