Adapting or modifying the AGREE Instrument
The AGREE Research Trust is delighted that organisations are using the AGREE Instrument to inform guideline development evaluation and reporting.
AGREE is used throughout the world. We appreciate that groups may need to modify the instrument to meet their needs. The AGREE Research Trust is not in a position to comment on or endorse changes made to the instrument by other groups but we would ask that you cite the original AGREE work in the following way:
"This [instrument/framework] is adapted from the original AGREE Instrument: The AGREE Collaboration. The Appraisal of Guidelines for Research & Evaluation (AGREE) Instrument, 2001. London:
The AGREE Research Trust (http://www.agreetrust.org/).”
And use the following reference: The AGREE Collaboration. Development and validation of an international appraisal instrument for assessing the quality of clinical practice guidelines: the AGREE project. Quality and Safety in Health Care 2003; 12(1): 18-23.
Online AGREE Tool The AGREE Instrument is available online on the GIN website.
The online tool offers G-I-N members the possibility to post guidelines for evaluation.
